Alerting overview

Observium comes equipped with a uniquely customisable rule-based alerting system.

Core components:

• Creating Alert Checkers for threshold/rule evaluation.
• Notification Transports for delivery.
• Scheduled Maintenance for planned alert suppression windows.
• Entity Type Reference for valid metrics and attributes.

The alerting system shares its association model with the Groups system, which allows scoped alerting and maintenance by matching sets of entities.
